I use maximuscle products to gain weight and I go to the gym 3-4 times a week (day on, day off) – I have so far not gained fat but have gained muscle.

You need to remember that muscle is only built on rest days (when your muscle is healing) so going to the gym everyday actually slows down muscle growth.

well, cyclone doesn’t have as much creatine as a creatine supplement, so just take your creatine daily multiple times as recommended and take cyclone once a day after your workout, substitute cyclone for your creatine supplement after your workout

hi guys im just new to this yahoo questions thing. well i did abit of research on this topic but couldnt seem to find the anwser to this question.everytime i did find something on the web it sounded a bit biased just so i would buy their product.
ok so here goes:

1. whats the difference between Steriods and Protein supplements such as whey protein?

2. i know steriods has side effects such as having small testes. do protein supplements have the same side effects and what are the side effects of protein supplements if any?

3. what is the best protein supplement to buy if its safe? i was thinking of ‘Maximuscle Promax HIGH PROTEIN’
any reccomendations

please thanks all help would be appreciated….
ps: can i reply to my own question?

protein powder is safe, as long as they’re not adding something crazy. it’s just food. you use it to increase calories/protein.

don’t screw with steroids until you have a good solid workout routine and your diet is all cool. and then, still don’t screw with steroids.

An athlete wants to build muscle so he starts a protein supplement twice a day with 20 gms of protein each. In addition he eats 85 gms of protein from food. He has been working out and has been taking in 1800 calories although he requires 2400 calories to maintain his weight. What is the most likely fate of the protein intake from the supplements?

Depeds on what protein hes taking, if creatine is included, he is going to have major liver damage. If its just protein, then that can still cause liver damage, odds are not as high.
Depending on whether or not he is working out hard enough, too much protein wont do you any good. Protein ingested that are not used up are excreted either by #2 or #1 <–toilet. So hes wasting good money…

i’ve decided to live by a vegan diet, because of my beliefs towards animal rights.. i know that i still need protein, so what are some good protein supplements? and is there any other supplements i should be taking?

It isn’t something you need to worry about.
What the body actually requires is amino acids- the building blocks of protein. Most amino acids are made by the recycling of old tissues. Of the ones which must be obtained through diet, ALL are present in plant foods.

Most people (in the U.S. especially) consume far too much protein, which puts a great deal of stress on the kidneys, prevents absorption of calcium, and can lead to an accumulation of toxins in the liver.

Outside of famine conditions, protein deficiency is all but unheard of. If you consume enough calories, you’re getting enough protein.

One of the most important messages I try to teach my readers in this world of heavy confusion is that your diet doesn’t need to conform to any of the fad diets… you don’t need to go “low carb” or “low fat”, or high or low anything for that matter to be successful in losing enough body fat to get lean enough to be able to see your abs. I like to try to simplify things for my readers. I think that balance is the key to success along with eating a diet that is made up of nutrient dense foods in their natural state (as unprocessed as possible).

In general, it is the heavy processing of foods that makes it wreak havoc inside our bodies. Most foods in their natural unprocessed state are inherently good for us. Of course there are always exceptions… a salad of poison ivy leaves is “natural and unprocessed” but certainly would not be good for us!

I’ll leave your readers with a couple of the most important aspects of nutrition and diet that help to get you lean for life (and have any chance of getting those abs to show)…

1. Get enough quality protein in the daily diet – not only does it have a higher thermic effect than carbs and fat (so you burn more calories digesting it), but it also creates satiety so your hunger is satisfied longer. Plus it’s a building block for maintaining and building lean muscle… And remember that the amount of lean muscle you carry is one of the main factors for controlling your metabolism.

2. Think fiber! When it comes to carbs, make sure that almost all of your carbohydrate intake is from higher fiber sources like vegetables, fruits, and high fiber unrefined grains. Try to avoid refined sugars and refined grains as that is one of the main reasons so many people struggle with body fat. I personally don’t eat many grains as I prefer to get most of my carbs from veggies and fruits, but I am a bit of a fan of sprouted grains. I generally recommend looking for carbohydrate sources that have at least 2-3 grams of fiber per each 10 grams of total carbs. Remember that fiber helps fill you up and also slows down the glycemic response of the foods you eat, all beneficial for getting lean.

3. Don’t be afraid to eat fat! Many people try to go way too low on their fat intake in their diet and this can negatively affect hormone levels in your body as well as causing more cravings. Try to eat enough healthy fats daily. Good sources are all nuts and seeds, nut butters, avocados, olive oil, organic meats and eggs, coconuts and virgin coconut oil. On that note, saturated fats from tropical oils are VERY misunderstood, even by many nutritionists and other health professionals. Yes they are composed highly of saturated fats, but are actually beneficial (but that’s way beyond the scope of this article).

4. Avoid the two worst things in our food supply at ALL COSTS:

*artificial trans fats from margarines, shortening, and hydrogenated oils that are in most processed foods

*high fructose corn syrup, which is in almost all sweetened products on the market

Again, if you avoid processed foods, it becomes easy to avoid these two worst offenders in our food supply.

I always contend that once you get a handle on these 4 main points of your diet detailed above, the rest starts to take care of itself as you gain control over your appetite, blood sugar levels, hormone levels, etc. It all falls into place, and you eventually gain total control over how lean you want to get. Gain control of this part of your life, and those abs may be showing in no time!

5 things you need to do or not do to get a 6 pack:

1. The main focus should not be on abdominal exercises. I know that sounds counterintuitive, but the fact of the matter is that abdominal exercises are ok, and you do need to do a certain amount of them to develop the abs as best as possible. But to be honest, most people that are trying to get better looking abdominals waste WAY too much time training the abs directly. What you really need to focus on is burning off the extra fat that is covering them up.

2. You do not need to focus on mega-hours of boring, monotonous cardio routines. In fact, you don’t have to do any typical “cardio” if you don’t want to and you can still achieve rippling abs.

3. You do not need to use supplements or “fat-loss” pills. For the most part, about 95% of supplements are a complete waste of your hard earned money.

4. You do not need to use any fancy “ab machines” or “ab gadgets”. You can accomplish everything that ab belts, ab loungers, ab rockers, or any other worthless ab gadget or machine claims to offer just by doing the right exercises the correct way.

5. You do not need to follow some fad diet or gimmicky diet trend. You do need to follow some sound nutritional strategies however that will increase you metabolism and allow you to effectively burn calories all day long (even while you sleep).

The fact is that you do not need “gimmicks” to have or to achieve a 6-pack of abs. That’s what we are led to believe as we are constantly bombarded with marketing and advertising that tells us otherwise. The fact is that they need to come up with some sort of different “angle”, so that their diet program appears unique and gives the media something to talk about. That’s why there’s always some gimmick, like low-fat, or low-carb, or high protein, or the “colors diet”, the “low glycemic index diet”, the fasting diet, the cabbage diet, Atkins, South Beach… you name it.

If you are asking yourself what do I need to do for 6 pack abs then the truth of the matter about what it really takes is to eat a nutritious diet that not only will have you burning off that stubborn belly fat, but will also have you feeling full of energy every single day. If you don’t already feel energetic and alive every single day, then you are missing out, because it is an awesome feeling!

Are you looking for a way to build your muscle fast? If you have been searching on the internet for the fastest way to build muscle you may have already heard of Jon Benson’s 7 Minute Muscle Program. Time is a value commodity no one is willing to spend their precious time in the gym if they can help it. Everyone wants the fastest way to build muscle and the 7 Minute Muscle guide show us how to do that. But does it really work?

Jon Benson, the author does not believe in long hour training exercise. He believes in maximizing the training exercises while keeping the workout time as short as possible to maintain the excellence result.

Always know your workout progress – You should keep track of your workout routine and the amount of time and weights you have been lifted. It allows you to observe your progress and know how much weights have been doing so you can know when to increase the weight for your next exercise. Ensure to appropriately increase the weight that your body can support.

Reduce your workout time - You should be aiming for the shortest time of workout if you want to increase the growth of your muscle. I have discovered that the technique can really help to grow your muscle effectively and quickly. Limit the amount of time when you rest within exercising and always keep your weight-lifting more intense. To get the best result, I suggest you to set a time limit before you start to work out.

Train on your muscle group per workout – The fastest way to build muscle is to exercise on each muscle per time. Perform 4 sets for each part of your body and increase the weight slowly as you go through the process. Try to increase the weights steadily and reduce the workout time as you go through. You should feel the pain in your muscle after the exercises. This triggering muscle method is very effective for your muscle growth.

Among the many muscle groups, chest muscle (pectorals) is often considered the most “showy” muscle; hence it is hardly a surprise that quite a number of men tend to focus on developing this muscle group to the point of sheer obsession. It’s definitely not in the best interest of your body to over train your pectorals (or any other muscle group for that matter) as this would only lead to miniscule results or worse, excruciating injury such as pectoral tear.

Now admittedly, I was also guilty of over training this muscle group. The chest is often regarded as one of the most appealing part of the body hence many women find men with muscular chest sexually attractive. Anyway, I was a skinny hardgainer and extremely eager to improve my physique, so I started training my chest at least 3 times per week and performed all kinds of exercises in order to build my chest muscle and hopefully, attract the ladies as well (sad, I know). Alas, after several weeks of consistent training, I decided to throw in the towel as the efforts that I put in did not seem to indicate even an ounce of promise. I knew there was something amiss so as they say; ‘it’s back to the drawing board’.

I did a lot of research on this matter and plodded through various online and offline sources offering so-called “secret tips and tactics” to develop a killer chest. Most of them are utter nonsense! Finally it came to my attention that in order to build decent looking chest muscle fast; one has to focus on these 4 key factors:

1. Focus on presses – Start channeling your efforts on proven mass maker exercises. I’m referring to basic pressing compound movements such as barbell/dumbbell bench press and chest dips. These are the exercises that can truly make a difference to the overall development of your pectorals compared to dumbbell flyes or barbell/dumbbell pullovers. I used to believe that performing flyes consistently will help to create “razor sharp definition” around the outer part of the chest, no thanks to a dubious tip I discovered in many muscle publications and websites.

Now I’m not implying that flyes and pullover exercises are utter useless. They should also be considered every now and again, however pressing compound movements must be treated as the primary arsenal of your chest pumping workout. For bench workout, do mix in incline and decline presses to facilitate growth in the upper and lower part of your chest respectively.

2. Focus on gradual positive progression – Building highly developed pecs may take some time especially if you’re hardgainer, but it’s not impossible to have a noticeably muscular chest in a relatively short period of time. The key is to focus on slow but gradual positive weekly progression. This means that you must improve upon your previous workout session by either increasing the poundage, or add a rep or two and perform the exercise to total failure. I can assure you that this tactic can help you build a noteworthy chest muscle fast, generally in a matter of weeks provided that you employ them consistently, week in, week out.

3. Focus on intensity not frequency – As mentioned earlier, I was so desperate to pack on a decent set of pecs that I completely over trained them. Learn to minimize training frequency as intensity level is actually the key to transforming your chest from a flat, barren landscape, to barrels of massive proportion! Stop training your chest 3 to 4 times per week because it won’t make any difference, trust me. It is best that you train your chest with maximum intensity once per week using the progression tactic for optimum development. This also applies to other muscle groups. Once a week with super concentrated intensity is all it takes to produce terrific results.

4. Focus on adequate muscle building nutrition – Without proper nutrition, it’s near impossible to change your physique. Protein for example, is the key nutrient for building and repairing muscle tissues. Carbohydrates, fats, and other micro-nutrient support are also crucial for improving the quality of your physique. How are you going to build your chest muscle fast if you do not consume the appropriate ratio of muscle building nutrients? Always keep your diet in check, otherwise all your muscle building efforts shall go to waste.
